City Slickers

This is where my family called home.  The busy yet beautiful city of Denver, CO.  We loved the fact that everything was so easy there but something was missing. Our happiness.
We lived in a tiny 2 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor.  Paying $825 a month for a ran down apartment was far from our dream. Though money was good there was still a yearning for something more. The saying is true, money doesn't buy happiness!  So one day, on a whim, we packed up very little of our belongings and hit the road.

We ended up here, right outside of the small town of Purcell, OK. Why a small town in Oklahoma? Because we want to live back to the basics. Food from the land, working hard for what we want, and being closer as a family!  We have little money now but have never been more happy in our lives!

I want this blog to show you our journey from being economy dependent city slickers to back to the basics homesteaders. I will share with you everything I learn to do and what not to do.

As of right now we have a little over 15 acres of wooded land to work with and a 1974 double wide that has not been lived in for 20 years!  With love and hard work I'm sure we can turn this tid bit into a wonderful homestead for my family to love!
